Parish Council minutes for Thursday 22 February 2024
Extraordinary Parish Council meeting
7pm Village Hall
Parish Councillor attendees: Angela Arden (Chair), Sarah Howard, Anna Seigneury, Carole Mawer, Clive Reetham
Guests: LCC Councillor Dan McNally, Councillor Simon Acklam, Chair of Withern with Stain Parish Council
23 members of the public attended.
1. Apologies: Peter Hill, Nick Pike, ELDC Councillor Travis Hesketh
2. To consider the response of Great and Little Carlton Parish Council to the early-stage proposals by National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) for the upgrading of the electricity network between Grimsby and Walpole.
Introduction by the Chair, followed by questions and views form the public.
Chair proposed that the Parish Council oppose the current proposals. Seconded by Sarah Howard. Majority vote in favour of the objection.
Actions:
• Chair to liaise with Withern PC and others to propose that an offshore solution be put forward as the preferred option of the Parish Council, and write a suitable response to NGET on behalf of the PC.
• Chair to continue to keep the website updated with relevant information for all to see
• All to encourage residents to respond individually, either by email of via a paper copy of the consultation form available at the meeting before the closing date of 13 March
