Annual Report 2019-20
This report is presented every August.
In August 2019, the following grants were awarded:
- Aircon Cassette Recess Unit for Village Hall
- The Carlton’s Firework Display
- The Carltons Children’s Club NYE 2019 Family Fun Night
- Canvas Box Prints for our Village Hall / Social Club
- St Edith’s Churchyard and Thacker Bank Woodland
Also, in August 2019 the second externally verified accounts for year ending 31 March 2019 were presented by a local accountancy business. Internal financial controls sit alongside Parish Council financial accountability systems.
In November 2019, a well-attended public meeting was held to give residents of the Carltons a chance to take stock on the grants awarded to date and have their say on future spending and investment for future generations. One action was that three Parish Councillors agreed to step aside from wind the turbine committee, and to make way for three residents of the Carltons to take part in the committee from February 2020.
In February 2020, Great & Little Carlton hosted the fourth meeting with the neighbouring parishes of Gayton and Theddlethorpe involved in the self-management of the Gayton le-Marsh Wind Farm Community Funds. Saltfleetby sent apologies due to a Parish Council meeting clash. The aim of the meeting, in Great Carlton Social Club, continues to be the sharing good practice. All parties feel this should be at least an annual meeting.
Also, in February the following grants were awarded:
- World Challenge Ecuador 2020
- Survey of Cedar Trees in St Edith’s Churchyard
- Village Green Tree Maintenance
- Carltons Footpath Spraying for 2020
- Carltons Footpath Mowing for 2020
- Village Green Mowing for 2020
- St Edith’s Churchyard Mowing for 2020
The names of the updated Wind Turbine Community Fund Management Committee were published in the Parish Council Annual Newsletter of March 2020.
Throughout the year, agendas, minutes, attendance lists and annual verified accounts are sent to BayWa r.e along with photographs and brief explanatory notes of grants awarded.
There continues to be a feeling in the parish that the self-managed wind farm community funds are continuing to have a significant positive impact on our quality of life in the Carltons, to help with long-term sustainability.

Wind Turbine Community Fund Management Committee
